| Bio: | Doug Creek spent 15 years playing professional baseball, including seven as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. Doug retired from baseball in 2006, and now spends his time as a fishing guide, as well a conducting youth baseball seminars, participating in teaching camps, and actively supporting charitable causes throughout the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. Doug fell in love with the Tampa area in 1991, when he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and began Spring Training in St. Petersburg. He moved to the area permanently in 2000 when he signed with the Tamp Bay Devil Rays. In addition to running guided fishing trips, Doug competes in the FLW Redfish Tour, ESPN Redfish Cup, and finished in the top 15 in the Professional Tarpon Tournament Series in 2007 – finishing 4th in the Jim Beam Tarpon Cup Championship. Doug’s baseball career took him overseas, as a member of the Professional Winter Baseball League in Venezuela and the Hanshin Tigers of Japan’s Central League. Doug was also a proud member of Team USA in 1987 and 1989. Doug spent time with seven Major League Baseball teams, including St. Louis, San Francisco, the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay, Seattle, Toronto and Detroit. Doug, and several fellow Team Century anglers, is the cast of a new reality television show – Tarpon of Boca, on the Outdoor Channel. Doug is sponsored by Red Barton Pizza. |
